Barry and Brenda Bullman

They grew up one street apart, attended the same church and Sunday School class, and their fathers played high school football together. She caught his eye as a freshman in high school, and, as a junior, he asked her on a date. They still celebrate that anniversary. It's understandable then, having celebrated 47 years together and 43 years married, and raising two daughters (now complete with two sons-in-law and two amazing grandsons), that Barry and Brenda Bullman's most consistent theme is, "It seems I've always loved you."
Although their upbringings in the church differed, Barry and Brenda have always made serving Jesus a priority in their lives and in their marriage, and have been involved in many different areas of ministry. They were led to pioneer a new church in their hometown, a small town of only 1000. There, they served on the church board and managed Bible School, the children's ministry, the teen ministry, and Barry was the worship leader (for twenty five years). When a tragic fire forced their vocation and relocation to a larger city, Barry and Brenda became the best volunteers they could be in what is still their church home. Barry immediately became part of the worship team, and together they started a marriage ministry and hosting a small group in their home. Many years later, these groups are still going strong!

Barry and Brenda know that God always has a plan for them. Barry has always felt a call into counseling, and returned to school to earn his Christian Counseling certification. Shortly thereafter, his lead pastor asked him to join the church staff full-time. During his 7-year tenure as Church Life pastor, he was ordained by the Vineyard Church, led the first satellite campus, grew a healthy small groups ministry, oversaw volunteers, led the pastoral care ministry, and counseled many individuals and couples. Barry and Brenda have loved countless people to Christ.

Since retiring, Barry and Brenda know that God is not finished with them. Barry has earned his certification from the American Association of Christian Counseling and has opened his own counseling practice in the Ohio Valley. He specializes in ministry burnout issues, marriage and relationship counseling, and men's issues. Brenda has become the manager of the local Operation Christmas Child collection center, is active with Faith in Action Caregivers, and regularly volunteers in a wide variety of positions at the church.

Barry and Brenda are very much looking forward to continuing their ministry. They are so excited about the opportunity to meet with and minister to couples who are where Barry and Brenda have been. They trust that God has ordained these relationships, and know that when they love God and love each other, they can help others do the same. Barry and Brenda enjoy travel, entertaining, and spending time with their Yorkshire Terrier Chloe.
