Paul has been pastor for over four decades. In fact, Paul was raised in a pastor’s home, so his experience began at about the age of four. Paul has had a wide variety of pastoral experiences. He has solo pastored in a small church or church plant ministry. Been the lead pastor of two multi-staff churches and served on staff of a mega church as their Adult Ministry Pastor. Paul is presently the lead pastor of a church that he helped plant several years ago.
Paul & Mary Lou have always looked at the ministry in the local church as a team effort and, in that capacity, have walked through many ministry experiences together…the good, the bad and the ugly. Through it all they have never lost their passion for God’s church and the ministry.
They have four adult children and fourteen grandchildren. All of their children have also grown up with a heart for the local church and each is involved in ministering in some fashion where they attend. Paul enjoys riding a motorcycle, reading, camping and working in the yard.
The counseling ministry has, for most of Paul’s ministry, been a key part of the ministry God has brought his way. For the last fifteen years God has especially been bringing struggling pastors into his life and he has had the opportunity to help refresh their vision and heart for ministry and family.
Paul and Mary Lou’s hearts are for pastors and their wives. To come along side those who are struggling and questioning their call and help them reach the other side and flourish.
One of Paul’s favorite quotes is:
“A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt.
It’s guaranteed that no ministry will ever be always “smooth”. Sometimes we all need someone to help us navigate the seas and remind us that there is hope and joy on the other side of the storm.
