Sarah Schwartz

Sarah and her husband Richard have been married for 32 years.  They have served in pastoral ministry for 26 of those years.  For 6 years her husband was an Assistant pastor in two different churches, and he has served as a Solo/Senior pastor since 2002.  They are both trained Spiritual Directors.  They have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
“Something has to be done.”  The longing to be present for other pastors’ wives has been weighing heavy on Sarah’s heart for many years.  As she has served in varied capacities in the church, there have been many blessings, but very little outside support from others who understand and have had the same calling.  She has prayed and talked over these concerns with her husband and other ministry wives and leaders.  In 2020 she stumbled on a story about a couple from their seminary days that were no longer in ministry and a wife that was now left without her church, husband or family.  That day, the calling in her heart to help grew even stronger.  By God’s grace, she was pointed to Standing Stone.

In her own journey in ministry, Sarah has sometimes voiced feeling like a “square peg in a round hole.”  By God’s grace and caring work in her life, she sees Jesus clearly redeeming the struggles and shaping her for this work as a Shepherdess with Standing Stone.  She looks forward to coming alongside women in a preventative way to offer support and a safe place to talk.  She also understands there are many women who experience anger, loneliness and disheartenment, and she desires to be there for them with compassion, friendship and support.
