CARL LACHMAN, BA, ThM, MBA, CFP®️
ECLECTIC ASSOCIATES
VICE PRESIDENT | FINANCIAL ADVISOR | OWNER

Carl Lachman enjoys helping people make good decisions about their money. It is a passion that drives his work at Eclectic Associates and spurs him to volunteer to teach financial courses in the community. He feels gratified to see clients and class attendees alike grasp a concept and apply it to their finances.

Carl started his working life in college as the owner of a small graphic design company. After graduation he worked at a small electronics manufacturing company in sales and marketing, but then left to serve as an assistant youth pastor in the junior and senior high ministries at the First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton (FEFC). He worked in pastoral ministry for five years, attended seminary, then came back to FEFC to manage the finances of the church for five years.

After then attending business school and building on his finance experience, he found his niche as a financial advisor. As a fee-only financial advisor and investment manager, Carl provides comprehensive financial advice, including small business management and estate planning advice. As vice president, he helps manage the business side of Eclectic Associates, sharing in management decisions and advising the company president.

Beyond his work at Eclectic, Carl is dedicated to serving the community. He has moderated “It’s Your Money” and “It’s Your Estate” community classes since 2011. He has also served as an Assistant Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts, a trustee board member of the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology, a member of the Newport Beach Sunrise Rotary Club, on the alumni boards for The Webb Schools and UCLA Anderson, and on the board for the Grapevine Outreach, a nonprofit organization that assists victims of domestic violence. Recently he joined the board of Standing Stone Ministries.

An avid reader, Carl has a library of more than 10,000 books. He also has visited more than 80 national parks and national monuments, traveling to the majority of them with his wife and children. He loves the outdoors and has backpacked and hiked countless times. He is pretty sure he has spent a little more than a year of his life in a tent.
