Ken Wilson

At the age of 21 Ken had an encounter with God that led him to place his faith in Christ. There was an immediate change in his purpose for living. His time and passion shifted from fast cars and motorcycles to pursuing Christ and leading students to Him. As he attended Bible College at a large church in Southern California he began working with Junior High Students, and after about a year he was given the opportunity to lead that group. In 1985 Ken was asked to join a church plant team as one of three founding pastors. It was here that he met his future wife Katie, and they were married in November of 1986. The next 26 years were invested in ministering to this body of believers and experiencing the life of a church as it thrived, plateaued, and declined.
In 2011 Ken began pursuing a degree at Talbot School of Theology, and it was here that God began to prepare him for the work of Standing Stone as he found himself caring for and encouraging his classmates as they spoke of the joys and struggles they were experiencing in ministry. His many years in ministry have enabled him to understand the excitement and challenges of pastoral leadership, and he has a heart to come alongside pastors and ministry leaders as a thoughtful listener and confidant, and a trustworthy friend who is quick to lend a hand and offer a dose of humor to help strengthen them on their ministry journeys.

Ken and Katie have two girls who are a constant source of joy, one multi-talented son in law, and two adventurous little grandkids. They consider it a privilege to walk with pastors and their wives so they "may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience (1 Tim 1:18-19)"
