Dave and Joanne Beckwith

One week after their wedding in 1969, Dave and Joanne began their journey in pastoral ministry. And what an adventure it has been--deep joy and hard-fought battles, seasons of fruitfulness alongside moments of pain and struggle. God has given them a heart for those who hurt and a shared life mission to help others discover God’s power in their weakest moments.

Currently, Dave and Joanne serve as shepherds with Standing Stone Ministry, caring for spiritual leaders. Dave is also the Western US Volunteer Director for Standing Stone.

Ministry Background. Dave has spent most of his ministry serving as a senior pastor, including twenty years at Woodbridge Community Church in Irvine, California, where he was later named senior pastor emeritus. Joanne has faithfully partnered with him in ministry, leading women’s ministries, mentoring, and teaching.

Writing and Training. Dave and Joanne Beckwith have devoted their lives to writing and training that speaks to the deepest struggles of leadership, family, and faith. They have authored four books:

God Meetings: Build Healthy Leadership and Prevent Ministry Shipwreck.

Dave trains leadership teams in God Meetings, a transformative way of working together that resolves conflict and sharpens ministry focus. Standing Stone Ministry also recorded a 15-part God Meetings video series to accompany the book. God Meetings is now being used by leadership in many churches across the country.

Education and Family. Dave and Joanne are both graduates of Biola University—Joanne in nursing and Dave in business administration. Dave went on to complete his seminary training at Talbot School of Theology and a DMin in organizational leadership from Haven University.

They are blessed with two married daughters, Julie and Tami, four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
