Ron served his Inland Northwest community as a Police Officer and School Resource Officer, a job he absolutely loved, for 10 years before feeling called into full-time ministry. Over the next twenty years, Ron served God in various ministry areas: single adults, small groups, safety and security, counseling, and executive leadership. Eventually, he joined a discipleship training team, developing and facilitating dozens of training sessions all over the world. His passion and desire was to help other pastors and church leaders understand the heart behind intentional relational discipleship. He saw the deep hurts, staff struggles, misalignment, and strife behind the scenes of so many churches during that time. He also became increasingly more aware of the overwhelming loneliness, burnout, sense of inadequacy, disillusionment, and personal struggles that so many pastors and ministry leaders carried alone.
In 2012, Ron and his family moved over three-thousand miles across country to help shift the culture of a hundred-year-old church into a disciple making church. The following years were filled with the highs and lows of ministry life. Ron, his wife Kristina, and their two high school aged children witnessed God’s amazing transformation in the church as a whole and so many people’s lives. As his children became adults, they each moved back to their roots in the Northwest, and Ron and Kristina followed soon after, eventually starting a pastoral Biblical counseling business.
Ron understands the demands ministry puts on a marriage and family, living under a microscope, always being on call, and struggling to set and hold healthy boundaries. Ron’s family has grown stronger through many trials together and have intimately known and recovered from the church hurt that comes with the deception, greed, selfishness, and betrayal that too often piggy-backs ministry. Ron understands the doubt, fear, and sense of inadequacy that can haunt a pastor. Still, God has used it all to create a deeper empathy for and desire to shepherd pastors, ministers, and their families. Standing Stones Ministry allows Ron to do just that.
Ron and Kristina have been married since 1988 and have two grown, married children. Living near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, they enjoy camping, riding dirt bikes, fly fishing, and playing board games with the whole family. Most recently, Ron and Kristina have joyously joined the ranks of grandparents.
