Liz Hanna

Liz has been serving with her husband Jim in pastoral ministry for over 40 years. They have 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren. She has served in women’s ministries, children’s ministries, led small groups, mentored, counseled and led Celebrate Recovery groups. As a pastor’s wife Liz has a heart for women in ministry that are facing the pain of rejection, false expectations and loneliness. In ministry Liz often longed for a place to share her struggles about marriage, parenting, finances and issues with the church. By processing and healing from her own pain and hurt Liz has developed a passion to come alongside other women in ministry to encourage them with a listening ear, compassionate heart and God’s love and grace. Liz feels that the Standing Stone ministry provides a safe and confidential place to help ministry wives process their hurts, frustrations and disappointments, and to celebrate their emotional and spiritual growth.
Liz has worked in public school education as a teacher’s aide, substitute, and credentialed teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute and a teaching credential from California State University Stanislaus. Her greatest joy has been raising her five children and serving with Jim in ministry. She loves teaching the Bible and mentoring women of all ages. Liz enjoys reading, traveling, baking, biking, hiking and exercise. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her grandchildren.

Liz and Jim have a burden to help other ministry leaders who are going through some of the same things that they have walked through in their ministry. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:4, He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. This is our heart’s desire as we serve together in Standing Stone.
