Maureen Horst

When Maureen was 12, she heard the story of Christ’s sacrifice on The Cross for the first time that Easter. She gave her heart sincerely and felt an intimacy with the Spirit right away. However, that relationship was put to the test after High School as a young Art student 3 states away which resulted in heartache and a return to the Northwest and Jesus. Shortly thereafter, she found the other love of her life, married, and had 2 beautiful daughters.

When her then businessman husband, Dan, transitioned into a Pastor, she became a “Pastor’s Wife” of which she was honored but also challenged. Serving alongside her husband as a support and help, Maureen also served wherever the Lord led, which included a huge move to California. In the Church, Maureen served as the Women’s Pastor, Drama Director, First Impressions Director, served in Children’s Church, on the Worship Team, was a Creative and Website Manager, Administrative Assistant, and, quite extensively, as a Small Group Leader. (Not always at the same time.) She finds extraordinary joy in counseling and shepherding women who need support in life, marriage, parenting, leadership, friendship, and ministry. Partnering with her husband, Maureen also uses her gifts of hospitality and creative talent to decorate, entertain, run retreats, and write curriculum to minister to ministry leaders.

Dan and Maureen have two amazing adult daughters. and one wonderful son-in-law, who are the heart of who she is. Time spent with them, with friends and family, and alone together with Dan, is Maureen’s happy place. She loves writing and speaking, relaxing with a good book, or spending time in the kitchen.

She is excited to be a part of Standing Stone and is blessed to come alongside other women in ministry who need encouragement, comfort, direction, or just desire someone to listen.
