Larry and Faith Shelton

Faith and I have been married 565 months! (Once a year is not enough to celebrate.) We have experienced the “ups and downs” that all married couples experience yet, we are still very much in love and still learning to love each other better. We met at Azusa Pacific College and sang together in a trio, we had our first date on March 3,1972 and married 17 months later, just before our junior year.
We have four children of our own and one unofficially adopted daughter. All are actively following Jesus. We have 7 grand-children all living in Northern California. Faith took the lead in home-schooling all four of our children, birth thru high school. Faith recently retired from a career as a surgical RN.

Larry has four post-graduate degrees including one in Marriage, Family Child Counseling and a Doctorate in Church Growth and Administration. (Larry was a Medical Technologist for 8 years prior to going into ministry.)

As senior pastor, Larry served two large churches over a period of 33 years.

We founded the SoulMatesForLife Part One application of CoreStrengths. (Together, we enjoy coaching couples.) Larry wrote a book for couples entitled “Short Stories for the Long Haul” and co-authored a work book that accompanies SoulMatesForLife retreats. We are currently developing SoulMatesForLife Part Two. Larry is one of four “principles” with Consentiagroup.

Faith and Larry are both certified as “Retreat Shepherds” and “Field Shepherds” with Standing Stone Ministry as of 2019. (See StandingStoneMinistry.org). Basically, “we are Switzerland for ministers and missionaries.”

Our house and most of what we own burned to the ground in the November 8th, 2019 CampFire in northern California. We lived with our youngest daughter in Chico, CA. for 14 months and since then have been moving wherever we have opportunity to live and serve. Our first purchases after the fire were wetsuits for boogey boarding at the beach?. We are still praying/asking God “Where are we supposed to live?” Patience.

Mainly for ministry purposes, we have traveled to over 20 countries.

Faith and I love to laugh! We love to play guitars and sing worship songs. We ride bicycles together and enjoy hiking.

Larry is an avid fisherman. Faith is an avid grandmother.
