Terrance Rollerson

Rev. Terrance Rollerson's journey is one rooted in a deep commitment to urban ministry, pastoral care, and the transformative power of faith. Born and raised in the Bronx of New York and southern California, Terrance's path led him to Minnesota, where he earned a BA in Physical Education with an emphasis on corporate fitness from Bethel University.

During his college years, Terrance's heart for service flourished as he volunteered with Young Life, a ministry dedicated to reaching high school students. This experience set the stage for his later calling into pastoral ministry. The desire to make a meaningful impact led him to become the Area Director for Young Life in St. Paul.

Terrance continued his education at Luther Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity while concurrently serving two churches as a youth director and minister of pastoral care. His pastoral journey truly began in 2000 when he took on the role of a pastor on the east side of St. Paul, aiming to align the church with the diverse community it served. During this time, he founded God's Closet, a free clothing store that provided for thousands of adults and children annually.

In 2007, fueled by a vision for intentional multi-ethnic ministry, Terrance planted The Compass Church on the east side of St. Paul. This endeavor marked the beginning of a partnership with The Urban Refuge, a collaboration driven by a shared commitment to urban ministry.

Terrance's passion for multi-ethnic urban ministry eventually led him to become a full-time leadership team member and co-pastor at Urban Refuge in 2015. His contributions included pastoral counseling, expertise in multi-ethnic ministry, and leadership in small-group settings.

In 2018, Terrance took on the role of Senior Pastor at a diverse urban church in Detroit, Michigan. During this period, he completed training as a life coach and prayer counselor, further expanding his toolkit for shepherding and guiding others.

Returning to Minnesota in 2021, Terrance embraced a new challenge as the Director of Intercultural Engagement and Belonging at the University of Northwestern St. Paul. Simultaneously, he served as an adjunct faculty member, a certified coach for Christian leaders, and a Pastor of Shepherding at the New City of Nations Church.

In 2022, Terrance added the title of author to his list of accomplishments with the publication of "Broken Yet Called: A leader’s journey to renewal and restoration." This work reflects his personal journey through brokenness and a newfound understanding of the critical need for caring for pastors.

Amid the challenges posed by the COVID season, Terrance underwent a transformative reflection on his role as a pastor. This introspection solidified his commitment to shepherd others through spiritual coaching, prayer counseling, and providing a safe listening post. Standing Stone Ministry emerged as the embodiment of this calling—a place dedicated to journeying with pastors towards renewal, refreshment, and restoration.

Terrance and Michelle, married since 1992, share a life rich with blessings, including their two children, Micayla and Elijah. The Rollerson family eagerly anticipates the opportunities and challenges of their next ministry assignment, embodying the enduring spirit of faith and service that defines Rev. Terrance Rollerson's remarkable journey.
