HAVE VISION, WILL TRAVEL
What do a Grammy-nominated recording artist, stories of hope, a gorgeous Tennessee evening, and the opportunity to bless ministry leaders have in common?
They all played a major role at our vision-casting event in Franklin, TN this week. We celebrated all that God is doing in and through Standing Stone in an area where over thirty of our shepherds live and work. It was a delightful evening from start to finish!
We were thrilled to hear from friend of Standing Stone, Tim Timmons, who co-wrote “Even If” with MercyMe’s Bart Millard and performed that Grammy-nominated song for our guests in Franklin. Tim’s stellar voice and powerful story impacted all who gathered. “I travel around the country,” Tim shared, “and everywhere I go, pastors are soul tired.” Standing Stone exists to serve these very ministry leaders! Shannon Reese, who serves on the executive staff at Calvary Chapel Santa Ana shared her Standing Stone story, as did Corey Trimble, senior ministry leader at The Experience Community Church. Both Shannon and Corey told our guests that meeting with Standing Stone shepherds have made a massive difference in their life and ministry.
Hearing testimonies like these ignites our passion to continue this work, strengthening God’s church by caring for its leaders. It encourages others to partner with us financially. As more ministry leaders stay at their posts– refreshed, ready, and refocused–their congregations, mission fields, and ministry spheres are transformed. Healthy leaders guide healthy organizations for the glory of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ, and that is what Standing Stone is all about. Thanks for helping us do this!
Weekly Encouragement
Romans 15:13 records a beautiful benediction from the Apostle Paul.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13, NIV
We chose this verse as the focal point for our event in Tennessee because, at Standing Stone, we envision a future in which ministry leaders are overflowing with hope, not overflowing with stress, exhaustion, or anxiety. We envision ministry leaders everywhere, so radiant with hope that people can’t help but be drawn to the God of all hope who fills them with joy and peace. Please join us in praying for us and for all the ministry leaders we serve, that we might see this hope come to fruition.
